What It's All About
On this blog, I will be posting stories of mine. I need your feedback to help my stories, and me. I mostly write fantasy, dystopian, or supernatural. Some of my stories will be in chapters, and some will not. Also, some will be finished, and ones that aren't, I'm working on. If I post a story with only a few chapters, and you'd like more, please comment and I'll put more up as soon as I can.
I called this blog 'Read, Write, Love' because I absolutely love reading and writing. Occasionally, I might post a list of 'must read' books, but other than that, this is based completely on my writing. I try my best to make my stories (and blogs, now) as detailed and great as I can make them. If you think I need to improve...feedback is the answer! I love feedback because it gives me great ideas and really helps me understand what I've done wrong, need to fix, restate, etc.
I've written many stories, and have tons of ideas, but they never seem to come together. I've written a few short stories, and many with chapters. I just can't seem to ever finish it and find a way to end it. I get so wrapped up in all my ideas and plot twists, that I get ahead of myself. Sometimes, I think of the ending before I even have a beginning. I just get excited! :)
Speaking of not finishing stories, I'll apologize in advance. If I post part of a story, and never post the ending, I'm sorry. Like I said above, I lose touch with the idea and the characters and forget about it. But, one of these days, I'll actually finish one. Promise. ;)
Since I'm here, I'll tell you all about what I like to write. I really like to write fantasy; it's one of my favorite genres. Sometimes I might write with some sci-fi, but that's only when it's incorporated into one of my dystopian features. I usually like to write supernatural stories, mixed in with everything. I'll have a ghost, or a demon. Very rarely do I ever insert a vampire or werewolf, except for one story I'm writing. As you can see, I like to write a little bit of everything, and have it all intermixed into one interesting story and plot line.
I get my ideas from everywhere. Television shows, song lyrics, books, pictures, movies. Little snippets of something with catch my eye, and I suddenly wonder how I could make that into a story. Well, maybe...No. How about--? Nah. It's a long process of sitting on my bed with a notebook and pen.
My biggest enemy is first lines. I want to create a first line that will capture the reader, lure them in, making them want to know more. I want my first line to make the reader wonder: Who? What? When? Where? Why? I want it to make them want to learn more. I really struggle with this, trying to find what interests people.
But, you want to know what I really love? Cliffhangers. I love how they leave you guessing, making up your own scenarios for what could happen next. I know that when I predict the ending of a show, or book, it's always better than what I had come up with in my head. Other writers come up with the perfect way to leave you wondering, and I love finding new ways to do that, but also answering enough questions so you don't get to where you feel like you don't know enough.
Okay, back to the feedback before I close this up. I really want it! Some people are too nice and they don't want to hurt my feelings, but I know that there's got to be something I could fix, or make better. Any little bit helps. Right when I finish, I will post my first short story on here: Vengeance. I, personally, think it's one of my best, but, I'm not completely sure. It's up to you!
